How long is the pledging process for delta sigma theta grad chapter

Im a junior in college and Ive been considering pleadging for Delta Sigma Theta but I dont know if I'd be able to do anything really physical because I had a knee replacement not too long ago but I dont want to pledge in the Grad chapter.

If I try now. I wouldnt feel right asking one of the Deltas just because I pretty much know the process I was just wondering with my knee and everything, would I get treated differently And I have several letters from active members and besides my godmother is a "famous" delta so I know that part wont be a problem. I just dont want to sign up for this and then get any special treatment nor do I want to mess up my knee again.

I'm going to try and say this as politely as possible. If you ever become Greek, you'll understand why I'm saying these things the way I am. I mean no harm; I just want you to think about it. Is it because you're worried about being paper? A skater? If these are your only reasons, then maybe Greek life isn't for you, or you need to change your priorities a bit.

I'm sure you truly are interested in striving for these principles, but honestly think about why you want to join. That's a part of the bonding process. We all come with flaws, but by relying on your linesisters and them relying on you will make you all stronger.

You build each other up. If Delta is in your destiny, it will happen for you. Good luck with your search for Sisterhood I know grad chapters that pledge harder than some collegiates because they don't have to worry about the rules and regulations of a university, and that is FACT.

Think about it I have a similar thing going on with her knee thing. This may sound stupid but do you have to be able to do the delta hand sign to join or will I be denied.

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and for being encouraging. I have a situation that I currently can't resolve. As an aspirant for the Alumni chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha chapter in my city, I am having a difficult time getting a sponsor and recommender.

The members that I know personally no longer live in my city, however, they are still financial at both both the national and local levels. The current list of local active members are not members that I no familiarity with. The application period is nearing the closing date. That being said, I believe it may be necessary to inform the Chapter of my problem and end my pursuit to become a member of the APA fraternity until next year. Do you have any suggestions aside from the from what I already know relative to getting involved as an interested party and getting to know as many members as possible.

The other concern that I have is that I am 15 to 20 years older than most of the active membership and it has been a little difficult to develop a few relationships because there are no common threads to build on outside of the National programs and local community programs that I can support.

That's truly unfortunate. I know many people who had low GPAs at the completion of their Bachelors. I would still attend. Some my have a lift on how many years since you graduated undergrad. Either you meet it or you don't; and truthfully, if you don't have an extremely high GPA or a graduate degree which automatically gives you an 3.
